When John T Bishop was born on January 14, 1885, in Pickton, Texas, his father, James, was 34 and his mother, Margaret, was 30. He married Mae Blanch Rodgers in 1910 in Memphis, Texas. They had two children during their marriage. He died on February 26, 1962, in Wilbarger, Texas, at the age of 77, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
