DARROUZETT - Freddie Jergenson, 68, of Darrouzett, died October 7, 1995 at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 10 in the Darrouzett school auditorium with Dr. Stanley Balch officiating. Interment was in Darrouzett Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral service of Booker.
He was born June 6, 1927 on the family farm south of Darrouzett, and graduated from Darrouzett High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.
He married Awilda "Boogie" Smith on March 25, 1946 in Darrouzett. He was an order buyer for the cattle business and a rancher.
He was a member of Darrouzett United Methodist Church, the BPOE No. 2368 in Perryton, American Legion Post 635 and served on the board of the Darrouzett Cemetery Association. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Layne; a brother, Gottfrey Jergenson; a sister, Alrena Kliewer; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Boogie, of the home; one sister, Rosa Scheneider of Darrouzett; and one brother, Harry Jergenson of Darrouzett.
Memorials may be made to the Ricky Layne Memorial Fund in care of Judy Hudson of Darrouzett.
