When Alden Hiram "Buzzy" Smith was born on February 26, 1907, in Farmersville, Texas, his father, Willis, was 24 and his mother, Lula, was 20. He married Betty Blaner and they had one son together. He then married Connie Sanders in 1949. He died on September 22, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 50, and was buried in Vernon, Texas.
