Lilia A. Palumbo, age 63, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. She was born on March 27, 1954 to Veriano and Godelia Guimary in Poypog, Cantilan, and was raised in Surgiao del Sur Philippines. She graduated from Saint Michaels’s College Cantilan and was a self-employed business owner.

She married her husband of 38 years on September 16, 1978. Lilia was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing bingo. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, funny jokes, and pronunciation of the letter “H”. Also, no one could forget her super crispy fried chicken! She was a good friend, a generous person, and a mentor you could always count on. She loved her family and was the devoted matriarch and anchor that steered them. She will be truly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

Lilia is preceded in death by her parents, Veriano and Godelia and her daughter, Leah Marie. Lilia is survived by her loving husband, William Palumbo; Daughter, Raquel Guimary and sons, Christopher and Arthur Palumbo.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m.. Interment is to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
