Note: He was one of the two Dallas Police Officers handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald as they were transferring him from City to County Jail and he was shot by Jack Ruby on National Television on Nov 24, 1963. Oswald had been arrested for the murder of Officer JD Tippit and possibly President John F Kennedy.
