Funeral services for Delaine Mills Baucum, 62, of Seminole will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Willis Blair officiating. Interment will follow in the Loop Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Delaine was born on Aug. 7, 1951, in Seagraves, Texas, to William D. (Delton) Mills and Reba Frances Freeman. She graduated from Loop High School in 1969. Delaine married Denton Baucum on Aug. 7, 1976, in Loop. She was employed with Valley Irrigation & Pump in 1974 until she purchased the business in 1994, and had owned and operated it since that time. She and Denton had owned Baucum Insurance since 1986.

Delaine was a member of the Texas Regional Water Board, the Valley Dealer Council; she was also a member of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Loop.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Mills, on Oct. 5, 2003.

She is survived by her husband, Denton Baucum of Seminole; three sons, David Baucum and wife, Barbara of Odessa, Daniel Baucum of Seminole, and Heath Allen and wife, Stacey of Seminole; two brothers, Stelvin Mills and wife, Debbie of Whitehouse, and Ricky Mills and wife, Beverly of Loop; her father, William D. Mills of Loop; and two granddaughters, Katelyn and Jordan Allen.

A family and friends visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at Ratliff Funeral Home in Seminole.

Denton W. Baucum SEMINOLE-
Graveside services for Denton W. Baucum, 82, of Seminole will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, in the Loop Cemetery in Loop, Texas, with the Rev. Marvin Gregory officiating. He passed away Friday, May 2, 2014, in Seminole. Denton was born March 20, 1932, to Weaver and Lola Mae (Montgomery) Baucum in Anson, Texas. He married Delaine Mills in Loop, Texas, Aug. 7, 1976.

Denton graduated from Olton High School in 1950 and South Plains College in 1989. He was raised in Jones County and lived the majority of his life in Gaines County, farming for 25 years and selling real estate and farm insurance.

Denton was a member of the First United Methodist Church, served in the United States Army, a 32nd Degree Mason, Lubbock Scottish Rite, Knight Templar and an original board member of the Western Peanut Growers Association. He was very active in the American Agriculture Movement, driving his tractor from Seagraves, Texas, to Washington D.C.

Denton was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delaine Baucum on April 23, 2014. Denton is survived by a daughter, Denyce Scott of Anson; son, David Baucum and wife, Barbara of Odessa; son, Daniel Baucum of Anson and Seminole; son, Heath Allen and wife, Stacey of Seminole; and two granddaughters, Katelyn Shook and Jordan Allen of Seminole; brother, Don Baucum of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Ann Baucum and Janis Sessums of Lubbock; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials can be made to the Seminole Memorial Hospital Hospice at 209 N.W. 8th Street, Seminole, Texas 79360 or Lubbock Scottish Rite at 602 Avenue Q, Lubbock, Texas 79401.

Family and friends visitation will be held today, Saturday, May 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Ratliff Funeral Home in Seminole, Texas
