ELECTRA - Hazel Ruth King, 84, relative of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in Electra.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Electra First Baptist Church with the Revs. John Klappenbach and Jim Belcher Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park in Vernon, directed by Dutton Funeral Home.

Mrs. King was born in Odell and graduated from Vernon High School in 1931. She served with the Cadet Corps during World War II and graduated from Texas Christian University's Harris College of Nursing in 1947. She married Cecil King in 1947 in Torrence, Calif., and worked as a registered nurse at Electra Memorial Hospital for 50 years until retiring. She moved to Electra in 1957 from Vernon. She was a blood bank volunteer and was a member of Shriner's Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Living Donor Bank. She taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, of Electra; one brother, Jim Belcher Sr. of Wichita Falls; one nephew, Dr. Jim Belcher Jr. of Abilene; one niece; and two great-nephews and one great-niece.

Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity that deals with handicapped, heart or diabetes research.
