When David Estle Harvey was born on March 13, 1905, in Vernon, Texas, his father, Durward, was 23 and his mother, Addie, was 24. He married Mildred Gladys Gordon on October 1, 1927, in his hometown. They had five children during their marriage. He died on September 19, 1964, in Vernon, Texas, at the age of 59, and was buried there.
