SERGEANT US Air Force
July 18, 1956 - February 7, 2018

Frank Castillo Jr, 61, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on February 7, 2018.
He was born in Laredo, Texas on July 18, 1956. He graduated from West Oso HS-a star basketball player and went on to serve in the US Air Force, where he played more basketball and got to travel. He married Yvonne Orozco on January 16, 1981. They recently celebrated their 37th anniversary. He worked and retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot.
He was active in several Christian ministries, always ready to serve God and people in anyway he could. Those who encountered him or were mentored by him felt he became a father figure in their lives. He made sure to pour out his love to everyone he met and made everyone feel like a family member. Many will surely miss that big personality and smiling face of his.
Frank loved to read the newspaper…both Caller Times and the San Antonio Express News. He loved sports, especially the Spurs and Cowboys, even in their losing streaks. His favorite thing was to watch movies and munch on popcorn with his beloved wife.
Frank is preceded in death by Francisco Castillo and Innocencia Castillo. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Castillo, daughter Adrienne, son Christopher (Edith); and two grandchildren, Max and the soon to be born grandson. He is also survived by his 5 brothers and sisters, Mary (Gilbert) Martinez, Javier (Elda) Castillo, Rosie (Cecilio) Garza, Norma (Dan) Moreno, and Rene Castillo, plus numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 12th, 5pm at Guardian FH, followed by a service at 7pm. Burial/Memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 14th, 2pm at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
