Graveside services for Jr. Thornbury, 86, of Seminole were conducted Saturday, July 19 at 1 p.m. in the Gaines County Cemetery at Seminole with the Rev. James Washburn officiating. Services were under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole. Jr. passed away Tuesday, July 15 in Lubbock.

Jr. was born January 26, 1928 in Lewisburg, Missouri to John B. Sr. and Bonnie Ruth Thornbury. Jr. and Mary Hoffman were married April 11, 1951 in Lebonon, Missouri. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Jr. served in the United States Army where he served in the Korean War. Jr. was a barber and owned Thornbury Barber Shop for many years and also owned Thornbury Burglar Alarm. Jr. was preceded in death by his wife Mary Thornbury in March 2011; three brothers and two sisters.
Jr. is survived by two sons Rick Thornbury of Seminole, Gary Thornbury of Victoria; one brother Wolfort Thornbury of Branson, Missouri; three granddaughters Michelle Kelley, Johnna Crossland and Lexie Thornbury; three great-grandchildren Hunter and Grant Crossland and Caroline Kelley.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church, P.O. Box 658, Seminole, Texas 79360
