Funeral Mass for Prospero Macias, Sr. age 77 of Seminole, Texas will be celebrated Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with Father Paul Karieakatt officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at Boyer Funeral Home on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mr. Macias was born May 8, 1940 in Mexico to Teresa (Cardona) and Manuel Macias. He married Juana Muniz in Sudan, Texas February 8, 1969. He was a Catholic and owned his own trucking service. Prospero Macias was a hardworking man who loved his family dearly; he enjoyed agriculture and playing baseball in his spare time.

Prospero Macias, Sr. passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Juana Macias of Seminole, Texas; five sons, Adolfo Macias, Sr. of Odessa, Texas, Eloy Macias, Sr. and wife Yesenia of Seminole, Texas, Prospero Macias, Jr. of Seminole, Texas, Marco Antonio Macias of Seminole, Texas, and Richard Macias and wife Debra of Seminole, Texas; two brothers, Candelario Macias of Seminole, Texas and Ignacio Macias and wife Elizabeth of Seminole, Texas; two sisters, Maria Pilar Macias of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Teresa Macias of Phoenix, Arizona; 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
