Funeral services for Carolyn (Sims) Nichols, age 69 of Breckenridge, Texas will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Boyer Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor John Penner officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nichols was born February 5, 1949 in Snyder, Texas to Lillie (Price) and Willie O. Sims. She was employed as a waitress for several years. Mrs. Nichols was known by the many children she met as “Grandma.” She enjoyed reading, babysitting her grandchildren and all activities with her family. Mrs. Nichols was a very strong, honest, and hard working woman.
Carolyn Nichols passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Villa Haven Rehab in Breckenridge. She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rocky Bankhead, Willie Sims, and Wendall Sims; and one sister, Shirley Clarkston. She is survived by one son, Kevin Nichols of Andrews, Texas; two daughters, Tonya Mendez and husband Ramon of Breckenridge, Texas and Shanna Cornejo and husband Ricky of Andrews, Texas; one brother, Wesley Sims and wife Pat of Ft. Worth, Texas; three sisters, Jo Elliot of Farmerville, Lousiana, Sharon Keel of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Patricia Roberson and husband Tony of Seminole, Texas; eight grandchildren, Tiffiony Crow and husband Robert, Jamie Cornejo and wife Cassie, Cassandra Cornejo, Keyana Mendez, Katie Nichols, and Jaymae Mendez; and eight great-grandchildren.
