Funeral sevices for Isaac Klassen, age 55 of Seminole, Texas will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Sommerfeld Mennonite Church with Henry Martens officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Klassen was born March 13, 1961 in Durango, Mexico to Helena (Peters) and Jacob Klassen. At the age of 12, his family moved to Sacatecos, Mexico and then at 16 to Tomalepas, Mexico; by the age of 17 he had settled in Seminole, Texas. He married Elisabeth Hiebert on July 31, 1984 in Mexico. He had lived in Seminole for the past thirty-one years and was a member of Sommerfeld Mennonite Church. He was a hardworking man who made his living in construction. He enjoyed telling jokes, making people laugh, and having outdoor barbeques with his family and friends. He adored his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time at the lake and listening to Spanish music.
Isaac Klassen passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at his home in Seminole, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Klassen of Seminole, Texas; two sons, Isaac Klassen and wife Julie of Denver City, Texas and Johnny Klassen of Seminole, Texas; three daughters, Helen Schmitt and husband David of Seminole, Texas, Annie Klassen of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Martha Jackson and husband Craig of Seminole, Texas; one brother, Jake Klassen and wife Annie of Kansas; eight sisters, Helen Klassen and husband Abe of Seminole, Texas, Susan Blanco and husband Reyes of Seminole, Texas, Nettie Klassen and Lalo Suarez of Seminole, Texas, Mary Martens and husband Neil of Iowa, Sarah Wiebe and husband Jake of Kansas, Lisa Olfert and husband Abe of Kansas, Eva Klassen of Seminole, Texas, and Martha Loewen and husband David of Quanah, Texas; and six grandchildren.
