Funeral services for Franklin Summerfield Shaw, 59, were conducted Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the South Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Buck Wheat officiating assisted by Rev. Joe Stewart. Interment followed in the Gaines County Cemetery with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole.

Summer was born March 24, 1960 in Big Spring to Franklin Shaw and Mildred Tatum. Summer recently married Mary Russell. He had been a resident of Seminole since 1977. He obtained his associates degree in Radiology with honors from Blinn/Texas A&M. His hard work and immense dedication to improve the lives of others set the standard for his department at Permian Regional Medical Center and allowed it to become what it is today. He was a graduate of the Commercial Flight Program at T.S.T.I. and was a commercial pilot for Air Midwest. He loved hunting, fishing and skiing.

Summer is survived by his wife Mary Shaw of Seminole; a son Aaron Shaw of Seattle; two daughters Morgan Shaw and Brandy of Seattle and Amanda Vasquez and Lee of Big Spring; his parents Frank Shaw and Starlie of Seminole and Mildred Redmon and Glen of Taylor; a brother Bryan Shaw and Dana of Lexington; two sisters Cindy Brown of Robert Lee and Helaine Hamline and Phil of Granger; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and the Permian Regional Medical Center Imaging Staff.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
