DENVER CITY- Funeral services for Raymond Benson, 90, of Denver City will be Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist in Denver City. Officiating will be by Reverend Billy Everett. Interment will follow in the Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City, Texas. He passed away Thursday, August16, 2012 in Denver City.

Raymond was born in Moscow, Idaho, on July 25, 1922 to Gust and Martha Benson. He married Dalphene Morris in Seminole, Texas in 1945. Raymond served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked for and retired from Shell Oil and Gas as an operator. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and former member of VFW along with the Jaycees.

Raymond was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Dalphene Benson of Denver City and two sons, Ronald Benson of Panhandle, Texas and Dwaine Benson of Denver City.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Eleanor Tipps Scholarship Fund, C/O First United Methodist Church of Denver City, Texas.
