Memorial services will be held at a later date for Dessie Berry of Denver City, Texas. Mrs. Berry passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City following a lengthy illness. Future services will be under the direction of Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver City, in association with Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
Mrs. Berry was born November 1, 1919 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Carrie (Murphy) and James Gillpatrick. She married Alonzo Phillip Berry on October 6, 1940 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Church of Christ and devoted a lot of her time to the church. She was a homemaker and operated a daycare in Denver City for many years. She volunteered as a pink lady. Mrs. Berry was very unique and smart as a fox.
Dessie Berry is preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Phillip Berry. She is survived by:
2 Sons James Berry and wife June of Denver City, Texas, Darrel Berry of Denver City, Texas; 1 Daughter Lonelle Taylor and husband Rick of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; 3 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great Great Grandchildren. www.boyerfuneralhome.net
