Claude Wesley Bowers DENVER CITY-Funeral services for Claude Wesley Bowers, 76, of Denver City will be on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. in the Denver City Church of Christ with Brother Skip Rodgers officiating with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. He went to be with our Lord on Jan. 24, 2015, in Denver City. Claude was born on Feb. 18, 1938, in Muleshoe, Texas, to James C. and Ola May Bowers. He attended Denver City Schools, was a member of AQHA, and loved to team rope. Claude worked 51 years in the Water Well Business and was the owner of Western Pump Services for 30 years. He raised Coriente cattle for 15 years and had a passion for his horses and cattle. He was an avid team roper and nobody could take care of the horses like Claude. He was preceded in death by two sons, Chris and Paul Bowers. Claude is survived by his wife, Peggy Bowers of Denver City; two sons, Tim Bowers and his wife, Donna of Plains, Sam Bowers and his companion, Glenn of Dallas; three grandchildren, Candace Bunch and husband, Steven, Nick Bowers and Kelly Bowers; four great-grandchildren, Hayden Bowers, Mallory Bunch, Madelin Bunch and Kyson Bunch; two sisters, Lucille Sellers of Santa Fe, NM, and Ann Wilson of Seagraves; and three brothers, Jim Bowers of Seminole, Tom Bowers of Seagraves, and Randoll Allen of Friona. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Portales Christian Children Home, 1356 New Mexico Hwy 236, Portales, NM, 88130-9411. Family and friend's visitation will be Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City from 6 to 8 p.m. Source: Ratliff Funeral Home.
