Funeral services for Ruth Morris, age 71 of Denver City, Texas were held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Denver City with Matt Johnson officiating.
Burial followed in Denver City Memorial Park. All services were under the direction of Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver City, in association with Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
Mrs. Morris passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Memorial Health Care Center in Seminole, Texas. She was born February 2, 1939 in Snyder, Texas to Louise (Easter) and Derrel Green. She married Franklin Morris in Denton, Texas on February 14, 1992. Mrs. Morris was a Baptist. She was employed by Yoakum County Hospital in housekeeping for 10 years. Mrs. Morris moved to Denton, where she worked at Denton Regional Hospital in the cafeteria, and returned to Denver City in 2000. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning. Mrs. Morris was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Ruth Morris is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Billie Vance; two brothers, Bob Green and Derrel Green, Jr.; one daughter, Sherri Whitten; and one granddaughter, Jessica Diane Wright.
She is survived by her son; Gene Ivie of Amarillo, Texas; Daughters Tanya Harrison of Sanger, Texas and Carla Tipton of Yukon, Oklahoma; Sisters, Bertie Couch of Amarillo, Texas, Fran Moore of Yukon, Oklahoma and Nell Rickels of Denver City, Texas; Eight Grandchildren and Seven Great-Grandchildren. www.boyerfuneralhome.net
