Funeral services for Richard Leon Marion, 74, formerly of Denver City, will be conducted Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel in Denver City with Reverend Ronnie Lunsford officiating with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Denver City Memorial Park Cemetery. Richard passed away March 2, 2014, in Baytown, Texas.

Richard was born on April 30, 1939, in Big Spring, Texas, to Arthur and Margueritte Marion. He served in the U.S. Navy, was a farmer for 30 years, and then worked for Exxon/ Mobil for 15 years. He married Sandra Hailey on Dec. 10, 1958, in Norfolk, VA and later married Rebecca Phyllis Lowe on Dec. 31, 2004.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Roxanna Stout; and a brother, Jerryl Marion. Richard is survived by his wife, Rebecca Phyllis Marion of Baytown; two sons, Randy Marion and his wife, Denise of Plains, and Ricky Marion of Hobbs; three daughters, Rebecca Morey of Hobbs, Rachelle Humphrey of Denver City, and Rhonda Parchman of Burleson; two sisters, Laverne Newton of Hobbs, and Barbara Tadlock of Levelland; along with 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
