DENVER CITY - Funeral Services for William Joe Phillips, age 86, of Denver City, TX, will be held Tuesday September 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Denver City Church of Christ in Denver City with Minister Skip Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow in Denver City Memorial Park in Denver City. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver, City in association with Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mr. Phillips passed away September 26, 2008 at his residence in Denver City, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Cross Plains, on April 7, 1922 to William Henry Phillips and Lena Mae Wood. He was an analyst or Getty Oil Company. He was married to Roxy Lee Partee on July 1, 1946 in Cross Plains.

Mr. Phillips was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved to fish, hunt and build things, he also loved to work in his yard and garden.

Survivors include his wife, Roxy Lee Phillips of Denver City; sons, Bill Flippin and wife Paula of Denver City, Donnie Joe Partee and wife Elaine of Crane, Mark Partee and wife Brenda of Denver city; daughters, Janice Flippin of Denver City and Joyce Thompson of Magnolia; sister, Viola Claiborne of Coleman; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
