August 24, 1874 - March 24, 1905
Named for her father, William E Sutton, and his father's best friend Gabriel Webster Slaughter, who were both killed on the steamer Clinton in Indianola, Texas on March 11, 1874. The murders by Jim and Bill Taylor were a part of the Sutton-Taylor Feud.
Her mother was Laura Eudora (McDonald) Sutton, daughter of John William and Leah Kirsch McDonald and she was four months pregnant with Willie when her father was killed.
