Doroteo R. "Dee" Collazo
Burial was in the Terrace Cemetery under the direction of Justice-Mason Funeral Home.
He died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born June 5, 1934, in Kingsbury. He came to Post with his family and attended Post schools.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
He worked for the Postex Cotton Mill until it closed. He then worked for the Post Independent School District until his retirement.
He married Maria Luna on Nov. 29, 1974.
He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Doroteo Collazo Jr. and Matthew Lopez, both of Post, and Paul Henry Collazo of Amarillo; five daughters, Maxine Torres of El Paso, Sally Anne Ayala of Amarillo, Marilyn Perez and Leana Lopez, both of Post, and Thelma Guajardo of Garden City, Kan.; four brothers, Jesse of Post, Lee of Waelder, Steve of Pearsall and Roy of Waco; three sisters, Eva Gonzales and Olivia Martinez, both of Post, and Esther Samora of Amarillo; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
