Sand Springs Cemetery encompasses almost seven acres and is one of the largest and oldest cemeteries in Wood County, Texas. It contains over two thousand graves, some dating back to the early 1860's. The cemetery is located a few miles northwest of Mineola in northeast Texas and can be reached from Mineola by going west on Hwy 69 North from the intersection with Hwy 37 for 2.75 miles. Turn right on CR2315 and you will be at the southwest corner of the cemetery. There are gates on all sides of the cemetery and there is also a shady picnic area with tables and a parking area on the north side of the facility grounds.
