Obituary:
Johnny Roy PERKINS, 87, of Garden City, Kansas, formerly of Darrouzett, died September 15, 1998 at Terrace Garden Care Center in Garden City.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 19, at the Darrouzett Cemetery, with Leon Tabor officiating. Arrangements were through Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. He was born December 25, 1919 in Jimtown, Oklahoma, and grew up at Leon, Oklahoma. He married Agnes BRUEGGAMEYER on May 25, 1933 in Leon. They moved to Darrouzett in 1942, where he worked for the Darrouzett Co-op Association.
After his retirement, he moved to Garden City. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in 1974; his parents; a sister; and two brothers.
He is survived by three sons, Harold PERKINS of Marion, Kansas, John PERKINS of Garden City and James PERKINS of Valencia, California; one daughter, Sue JINES of Cathedral City, California; two brothers, J. L. PERKINS of Perryton and Leroy GIBSON of Grass Valley, California; two sisters, Juanita MCBRIDE of Burneyville, Oklahoma and Edna PHILLIPS of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
