Carmen Ramos Madrid was born on June 11, 1933 in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico to Reyes Ramos and Amada Hernandez Ramos. She was the eldest of 11 children; whom she helped raise. She married Eustaquio Lujan Madrid on January 7, 1951 in Ojinaga, Mexico, and together they had 3 children. Before moving to Andrews in 1989, they spent many years in El Mulato where they farmed, ranched and owned a convenience store operated from their home. She enjoyed housekeeping, gardening, and cooking. Her signature clothing item was an apron, and she took pleasure in welcoming anyone who walked through the door of her home and providing them with a hot meal. Her desire was to serve others, and she made herself available to the needs of her family. She played an active role in raising her grandchildren; whom she cherished very much. She was a selfless and humble woman; who gave and received an abundance of love. She bestowed many memories of her kind heart, loving words, and pleasant humor upon her loved ones. Although she is no longer physically present, she will remain buried in the souls of all those whose lives she touched. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 10, 1998, her parents, 2 brothers, Reyes and Ricardo Ramos, and 3 sisters, Elisama Mackintosh, Hermelinda Valles, and Hermila Lujan.
