Apolonio “Polo" Ortega, 64, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at his home in Andrews, Texas.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2014 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Andrews North Cemetery with Rev. James Linton officiating. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
"Polo" was born June 27, 1949 in Marathon, Texas to Jose Angel and Leonor (Salas) Ortega. He was married to Consuelo Rodriquez. He moved from San Jose, California to Andrews in 1992. Polo loved to joke and make people laugh. He was also a big Denver Bronco's fan. He loved to fish and loved barbecuing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Felipa DeLaPaz; and two brothers, Ruben Ortega and Jesus Ortega.
Polo is survived by his wife, Connie, of Andrews; three daughters, Leonora Schmidt and Lita Ortega of San Jose, California and Liza Renteria of Hayward, California; one brother, Francisco Ortega of Marathon, Texas; three sisters, Rosa Gomez of Pecos, Texas, Anita Agular of Athens, Texas, Ernestina Henderson of Hutto, Texas; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
