James "Jim" Rex Pryor, Jr., age 53 of Andrews, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 in Austin, TX.
Jim was born on August 16, 1959 in Borger, TX to the late Rex and Glema Pryor.
He grew up in Skellytown, graduated from White Deer High School in 1977, and moved to West Texas in 1984. He met the love of his life, Monica Gage, at a Christmas party in 1984 and they were married shortly after on June 25, 1985 in Stinnett.
When he first moved to the area he was an employee of Getty Oil Company. Through the years he held many different positions, even making it through four mergers with the company. He was proud that he was celebrating 35 years with Chevron this month.
He loved riding his motorcycle to different parts of the country, and was a member of the Patriot Guard, Eunice Masonic Lodge, and the Croft's Light Artillery Battery. He was also honored by being inducted as a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Monica, one daughter, Shoshawna Bentley, and husband Tim, of Andrews; two grandchildren, Sheridan Leigh and Reagan Michelle Bentley of Andrews; one sister, Danita Sanders of Andrews; two nieces, Kaylee Couch & husband Frank, and Ashlee Sanders; two great nieces Aubree and Emmalyn Couch; and numerous extended family and loved by many acquired family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the West Texas Cowboy Church in Gardendale, TX at 12144 E Highway 158 with Andy Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Andrews North Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Andrews Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home, 201 NE 1st Street, Andrews, TX 79714.
