The Gastmann-Ohlendorf Cemetery is on property that belonged to Henry and Henrietta Gastmann from 1873 to 1892, who were early German settlers in the Addicks area.
The cemetery contains four headstones representing 5 people, dating from 1871 to 1937. The headstones are of the obelisk style. One obelisk is shared by both Heinrich and Maria Ohlendorf, with their names on two adjacent sides.
It is located near the north dead-end of Red Haw Street, in the northwest corner of the Katy Freeway and Eldridge Parkway. Drive up Red Haw towards the reservoir dike, stopping about 200 yards short of the power station entrance at the end. Bushwhack through the woods on the lot to the east until you get to the eastern edge of the woods and can see the private company parking lot on the other side. The cemetery is near that eastern edge of the woods. Watch out for the thorny vines that are hanging everywhere.
Brush has been cleared from around the graves, and the area delineated with logs from fallen trees.
