Funeral services for Edward J. "Ed" Kostelich of Denver City were held Monday June 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Denvery City First Baptist Church with Dr. Marty Akins officiating assisted by Brother Skip Rodgers with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City. Interment followed at the Denver City Memorial Cemetery. He went to the Lord on June 12, 2015 in Denver City.

Ed was born November 25, 1920 in Cecil, Pennsylvania to Frank and Annie (Plut) Kostelich. He married Elsie (Bell) Kostelich February 12, 1944 in Boise City, Oklahoma. He was a retired Transportation Supervisor for Denver City ISD, a Master Sergeant in the US Army Air Corp, a Pearl Harbor survivor, a member of the First Baptist Church, Denver City Lions Club, VFW Post 8575 and the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association. Ed, accompanied by his son, Wayne, was one of the Veterans of the South Plains area to be a participant in the First Honor Flight to Washington D.C..

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Frank, Thomas and Martin Kostelich, and a sister Mary Loveday.

Ed is survived by his daughter Joan Housouer and husband Gary of Lubbock; sons Frank Kostelich of Lubbock and Wayne Kostelich and wife Kristy of Denver City; a sister, Rose Deloss of Meadville, Pa.; 7 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers a memorial can be made to the South Plains Memorial Flight, PO Box 94787, Lubbock, Texas 79493 or a charity of your choice.

DENVER CITY — Services for Elsie Irene Kostelich, 76, of Denver City will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Denver City with Skip Rodgers officiating and Randy Butler assisting.

Burial will be in Denver City Memorial Park under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home.
She died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002.

She was born March 1, 1926, in Clayton, N.M. She married Edward C. Kostelich on Feb. 12, 1944, in Boise City, Okla. She moved from Seagraves to Denver City on 1957. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Frank of Lubbock and Wayne of Denver City; a daughter, Jone Housouer of Lubbock; a sister, Thelma Gripe of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
