Obituary:
Shirley Ragan
DARROUZETT - Shirley Ragan, 68, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, in Booker.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Carter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Darrouzett Cemetery by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker.

Shirley Kay Ragan was born Aug. 29, 1939, in Shattuck, Okla., to Wilbert and Pauline Steinert Meier. She graduated from Shattuck High School. On Feb. 1, 1958, Shirley married Johnny Ragan in Amarillo. They resided in Canyon temporarily, then in the spring of that same year they moved to Darrouzett.

Mrs. Ragan was a member of United Methodist Church in Darrouzett and was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Bridge Club. Shirley liked to crochet, flower garden and play piano, but what gave her the most enjoyment in life was her children and grandchildren, watching sports and her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Meier; and a grandson, Bobby Joe Knust.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny; a son, Stacy Ragan and wife Jerilyn of Darrouzett; two daughters, Johnna Knust of Fort Worth and Robin Ragan of Darrouzett; eight grandchildren, Rick Dunn, Brenton Knust, Bryn and Lana Dunn, Shad Dunn, Kale Knust, Zane Ragan, Jerrad Segura and Sherilyn Segura; two great-grandchildren, Brana Drummond and Ragan Dunn; a sister-in-law, Barbara Potter and her family; and many other family and friends.

The family suggests memorials be to the Bobby Joe Knust Memorial Scholarship Fund or United Methodist Church of Darrouzett, in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 341, Booker, TX 79005.
