Obituary:
Wanda Maxine (Macky) Neal Roper Nylin of The Villages, FL formerly of Darrouzett, TX was born to James Calvin Neal and Inez Pound Neal in Logan, OK on December 31, 1929. She graduated from Darrouzett High School and continued on to receive a degree in accounting from Oklahoma Junior College.
Macky married Lynn Harvey Roper on June 21, 1947. They were married and made their home in Darrouzett, TX for 45 years until Lynn's death in 1992. Macky met Robert Nylin in 1994 and they were married and moved to The Villages, FL, where they lived together until Robert's death in 2005. Macky remained in The Villages until recently when she moved to Tulsa to assisted living.
Macky was multi-talented, working as an accountant, an appraiser, real estate agent and rancher. She enjoyed many creative hobbies and has left a beautiful legacy of stained glass, quilts and a multitude of art. She was a talented musician, licensed pilot and world traveler.
Macky passed away on June 17, 2012 at the Clare House hospice in Tulsa, OK at the age of 82.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 25 at the First Baptist Church in Darrouzett, TX. Burial will follow the funeral at the Darrouzett Cemetery under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service and Chapel Booker, TX.
Macky is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Lynda and Mark Spire, Bethany and David Stephenson and Jennifer and Tom Hudgins. She took great pride in her grandchildren, Lyndsay Osborn, Travis Spire, Bronce Stephenson, Sydney Stephenson and Spencer Hudgins, 6 great grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Vera Vasek, brothers, JC Neal and Kay Neal and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 304 Booker, TX 79005 or The Clare House of Tulsa, OK 7617 South Mingo Road Tulsa, OK 74133.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM starting on Thursday June 21 thru Sat. June 23 at the funeral home.
