Norwood " Woody" Simmons, 75, of Andrews passed away Wednesday July 18, 2007 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews. Graveside services will be 4:00 PM Friday, July 20, 2007, at Andrews North Cemetery. Rev. Ted M. Short, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Woody was born January 13, 1932 in Dalhart, Texas, to J.H. and Elsie Golda Simmons. He moved to Andrews in 1956 from Albany, Texas. He married Yvonne Abney September 1, 1956 and they married a second time October 14, 1985. He worked for Kirby West for 20 years until he retired in 1992. He loved to do woodwork and read. Woody also enjoyed drinking coffee.
He is survived by, his wife- Yvonne Simmons of Andrews, two daughters, Sherry Hardy of Andrews and Candace Carter of Corpus Christi, two sons, Mike Simmons of Mansfield and Steve Simmons of Lubbock, one brother, Delton Ross Simmons of Midland and 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
