Obituary:
Elmer STABEL, 69, of Booker died April 26, 2002.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 30 at Darrouzett Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Griffin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Good Samaritan Funeral Service.
He was born June 29, 1932 in Lipscomb County and attended school in Booker, graduating from Booker High School in 1950. He married Janice Clarke on March 23, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died in 2000.
He farmed east of Booker, until retiring in 1992. He was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett.
He is survived by two sons, Craig STABEL of Booker and Roger STABEL of Dallas; two daughters, Lori POTTER of Sulphur Springs and Debbie STABEL of Abernathy; one brother, Arthur STABEL of Perryton; three sisters, Alvina GLASGOW of Amarillo, Leona PULS of Perryton, and Leona STABEL of Porterville, California; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Ochiltree General Hospital Home Health Hospice or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett.
