Gary D. Hancock, 78, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 in Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas.

Gary was born on April 18, 1934 to Jack and Flonnie Mae Hancock in Spearman, Texas. He graduated from Kermit High School in 1952 and a 1956 Texas Tech graduate, where he met the love of his life, Evelyn Alexander. Gary served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Gary and Evelyn moved to Andrews with Champion Oil Company in 1959. He later attended Sul Ross University and received a degree in Geology and counseling. He taught school in Andrews until his retirement in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Hancock of Andrews, Texas; son, Kevin Hancock and wife, Andrea; grandchildren, Jordan Lee and Rachel Hancock of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Jackie Barrett of New Braunfels, Texas; nieces, Roxie Vanstory and Robbie Barrett of Amarillo, Texas.
