Mr. Breitkreutz was born July 7, 1922 in Hoen, Texas, to Adolph Carl and Ella Breitkreutz and was reared and educated in the Hoen-Leroy area. In 1941, he was married to Inez Strickland. During most of their marriage, the Breitkreutzes lived near Ben Hur and in Mart. For 20 years he was a rural mail carrier for the Mart Post Office until his retirement in 1988. For many years he ranched, up until the time of his death.
Mr Breitkreutz was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Mart and the Rural Letter Carriers Association. He was an active member of the SPJST Lodge #35 in Elk, having served many years as its president and in other capacities. He served as a council member for the Mart City Council.
