Vernon Hobbs, 51, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his home in Andrews. Visitation will be 6-8PM Saturday at McNett Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews. Pastor Bill Melton Will Officiate Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Vernon was born October 10, 1963 in Morton, Texas to Vernie and Billie Hobbs. He moved to Andrews in 1965. Vernon Married Sharon Bevilaqua December 18, 1982 in Andrews. Vernon started working as a jailer for Andrews County in 1991, in 1997 he became a sheriff’s deputy and in 2001 he was elected constable and has served in that capacity ever since. He was named Constable of the year in 2012. Vernon was also a member of the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed riding motor cycles and trips to Ruidoso, NM and going to the lake to ride his jet ski but most of all Vernon loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Billie Hobbs and a brother Lee Hobbs. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Hobbs of Andrews, son, Vernon Joseph “Buddy” Hobbs of Andrews; daughters; Jennifer Nichole Dyer and her husband James of Andrews; Alpha DeLaCruz and her husband David of Andrews; his famer, Vernie Hobbs, of Andrews; brothers, Ricky Hobbs, Jimmy Hobbs, Marshall Hobbs all of Andrews, sisters Carol Hobbs; Linda Harvey; Katina Robinson; Charlotte Garrett and Michelle Hobbs all of Andrews; 3 grandchildren, Mattison Nichole Cooper; Avery Jade Brown and Natalie DeLaCruz. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
