Johnnie Mack "Sonny" Jernigan, 84, of Andrews passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Sonny was born December 14, 1925, in Carthage, Texas. He was proud to have served in the US Army.
Sonny moved to Andrews many years ago from Odessa. He worked as a Head Custodian for Andrews Independent School District until his retirement several years ago.
He loved to play with and work on old cars and trucks. Sonny also loved his trips to the coffee shop to visit with his buddies and it was a trip that he made a few times a day.
Sonny is survived by, his son, Johnnie Mack Jernigan, III of Odessa; daughter Maxine Jernigan of Roswell, NM; one brother, Joseph Jernigan of Odessa; sisters, Louise Blacknall and Fannie Jernigan both of Odessa; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
