Jimmie Ross Morgan, 74, of Andrews passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews with Rev. Bill Melton and Jimmie’s nephew, Todd Turnbow, officiating. Military graveside services will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. His grandsons will be serving as pallbarers. Jim was born on December 7, 1941 in Hamilton, TX to B.D. & Glenna Morgan. He was raised in Hamilton, Spade and Lubbock, TX; and graduated from Monterey High School in 1960. Soon after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, serving in Babenhausen, West Germany. He married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Morgan, on March 14, 1964 in Lubbock. He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years, serving all over the world including Korea, West Germany and combat in Vietnam. With Barbara, they raised their five children instilling in them the love of God, family and country. After retiring from the Army, they settled their family in Andrews, TX, where all of their children graduated from Andrews High School. They moved briefly to Comanche and Ft Worth, TX. He was the local locksmith in Andrews, until he retired in 2009. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hanging out with his friends and having coffee at Cassidy’s everyday. He was devoted to his family, adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren being the best Papa to them all. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Words can’t begin to describe how much he will be missed by everyone that loved him, but we find comfort knowing he was reunited with his one true love, Barbara Ann Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Morgan, father, B.D. Morgan, mother, Glenna Morgan, sister, Joyce Way, grandson, Doc Morgan, and great granddaughter, Graham Ann Chaney.

He is survived by his sister, Joah Smith of Oceanside, CA, his five children and their spouses, Jimmie and Tonie Morgan of Prosper, TX, Sherise and Sean Cassidy of Andrews, TX, Tony and Kelley Morgan of Andrews, TX, Tonia and Rick Ballard of Snyder, TX and Shawn and Sonia Morgan of Ft Worth, TX, twenty grandchildren, Brittany, Megan, Colin, Reid and Riley Cassidy, Ross, Joshua and Aaron Morgan, James and David Cooper, Tony and Zoe Morgan, Alex, Addison and Gracie Morgan, Armie Morgan, Misty Jacob, Morgan Chaney and Reagan Norman and Hunter Ballard, thirteen great-grandchildren, Julian and Tristan Cooper, Kailey and Alyssa Morgan, Alex Troha, Mckinley and Tucker Morgan, Lynox Morgan, Lane Alaniz, Rori Emphinger and Van Chaney, Mason Cassidy, and Noah Cooper.

Barbara Ann "Nana" Morgan arrived in the presence of the Lord on Jan 30, 2011. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd at 2:00pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews, Texas with Rev. Bill Melton officiating. Burial will follow in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Barbara was born on Nov 12, 1943 in Andrews, Texas to Clyde and Lois Turnbow. During her childhood they lived throughout West Texas while her father worked in the oil field. She married Jimmie R. Morgan on March 14, 1964 in Lubbock, Texas. Her husband soon entered the U.S. Army and she accompanied him as he was stationed throughout the country and overseas in Germany. She worked at various jobs along the way, none being more important than raising her five children. Barbara and Jim have lived in Andrews since 1981 with brief times being spent in Comanche, TX and Ft. Worth, TX. She was an active and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved her family beyond what words could explain. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and brought her great joy. She was known as "Nana" to many that got to know her through her children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with family and friends. She could play a mean game of farkle as well. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Turnbow; father, Clyde Turnbow; brothers, Paul and Jerry Turnbow and grandson, Doc Morgan. She is survived by husband, Jim Morgan; five children and their spouses, Jimmie and Tonie Morgan of Prosper, TX, Sherise and Sean Cassidy of Andrews, TX, Tony and Kelley Morgan of Andrews, TX, Tonia and Rick Ballard of Artesia, NM and Shawn and Tina Morgan of Aledo, TX. Seventeen grandchildren; Brittany, Megan, Colin, Reid and Riley Cassidy, Ross, Joshua and Aaron Morgan, James and David Cooper, Tony and Zoe Morgan, Alex, Addison and Gracie Morgan, Morgan Chaney and Reagan Norman. Six great-grandchildren; Julian and Tristan Cooper, Kailey and Alyssa Morgan, Rori Emphinger and Van Chaney; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gayland and Linda Turnbow, Danny and Linda Turnbow. Two precious aunts, Marie Turnbow and Lola Haler and many, many more cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Muncy and Dr. Raja Naidu for the outstanding care that she has received throughout the years. We also want to thank Home Hospice for the love and care she received during her final days.
