Funeral services for Bernice Bevers, 72, Seminole, Texas will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the M.S. Doss Community Chapel with Rev. Randy Gressett fficiating. Burial will follow in Denver City Memorial Park at Denver City, Texas. Services will be under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.
Mrs. Bevers passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Seminole Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born on June 10, 1934 in Dublin, Texas to Marvin & Iza Melton. She married James William "Jay" Bevers in Carlsbad, New Mexico on October 9, 1949. She was a member of the Assembly of God church. Mrs. Bevers worked as a dispatcher for the Gaines County Sheriff's Office for many years. She had also worked for the Seminole Public Schools in the dietary department for 15 years before her retirement. She was an Eastern Star.
Bernice Bevers is preceded in death by her husband Jay in 1974, and by 1 daughter, Janetta Ann in 1956.
Survivors include 1 son, David Bevers of Alvin, Texas; 2 daughters, Loretta Landrum of Anson, Texas and Rene Bates of Odessa, Texas; 1 sister, Betty Collier of Midland, Texas; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Source: Boyer Funeral Home.
