Charles Wayne Vogt, 64, of Midland passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Midland.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Doyle of Andrews, officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 pm at McNett Funeral Home. Charles was born on November 17, 1951 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Floyd Wayne Vogt and Norma Charlene Spradling Vogt. He was raised in Hobbs, New Mexico and graduated from Hobbs High School and received his Bachelor’s in education at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. He taught electronics at Hobbs High School. He married Nancy Marie Sims on July 25, 1972 in Carlsbad, NM. They moved to Seminole 1977, where they owned Curtis Mathis. They moved to Andrews in 1987, where they owned Movies & More for 33 years. They moved to Midland in 2015. While in Andrews, he served on the Andrews City Council from 2002-2014 and was Finance Chairman of the 1910 Loop Project. He was a past board member of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce, Business & Trade Association, Lion’s Club, Senior Citizen Center, and Appraisal Board. He loved to play golf with his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Vogt of Midland; 2 daughters, Cheryl Brown and husband, Doug, of Midland, Karen Buckner and husband, Ronnie, of Midland; 1 brother, Ronald L. Vogt of Midland; and 5 grandchildren, Tristen Brown, Bryson Brown, Dustin Hathcock, Maclynn Buckner, and Tripp Buckner. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
