HOBBS, N.M. — Services for C. "Ed" Farris, 82, of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Griffin Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the Denver City Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Hobbs.
He died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002.
He was born March 22, 1920, in Randalett and married Virginia Branin on Dec. 1, 1942, in Quanah. He served in the U.S. Army 5th Armored Division as a medic and half-track driver. He received 12 Purple Hearts.
He moved to Denver City in 1946 and lived in many Lea County cities while working for El Paso Natural Gas. He retired in 1983. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion.
A daughter, Carol Lynn, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; a son, Marc of Jal, N.M.; two daughters, Denise Farris of Albuquerque, N.M., and Susan Pritchard of Hobbs; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
