DENVER CITY (Special) Graveside services for Evelyn F. Stroup, 87, of Plains will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Denver City Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Wright of Plains officiating. Burial will be under direction of Head Family Funeral Home. She died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in Yoakum County Hospital.
She was born March 31, 1912, in Mitchell, La. She married Norman Stroup on June 30, 1928, in Mikeover, Ark. He died in August 1975. She moved to Texas in 1928. She moved to Plains from Lake LBJ in 1975. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Carl of Plains; a daughter, Patricia Moody of Brookeland; a brother, Clayton Fitty of Rosenburg; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Source: Head Family Funeral Home.
