Alton R. Keith, 69, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2017 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 - 4 PM at McNett Funeral Home. Please celebrate his life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Alton was born on November 29, 1947 in Dallas. His parents were William Benjamin Keith and Alene Maxine French Keith. He was raised and attended schools in Andrews and attended Midland College for business. He married Winnie Leone Smith on August 8, 1965 in Andrews. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict and served from 1966 – 1972. They moved to Midland in 1973, and he was a landman for several years before starting his career as a mortgage broker. He worked for Century 21 Real Estate in Midland for 13 years. They moved to Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM area in 2002. He loved playing golf and was a big fan of the Oakland Raiders football team. His family will always remember him for his strong will, hard work and determination. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joe Glen Keith, and his wife, Winnie, on July 11, 2016.

Alton is survived by 1 son, John J. Keith of Rio Rancho, NM, 1 grandson, Jacob Daniel Keith of Midland, 1 brother, Roland Keith and wife, Jackie, of Harvey, LA, and 2 sisters, Ora Pearl “Cookie” Scott of Andrews and Jeannie Rogers of Wichita Falls.
