A.D. Lawrence, 70, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at a Lubbock Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews. Pastor W.C. Kenan of Odessa will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

A.D. was born May 9, 1943 in Coolidge, Texas to Shelton and Gabriella Lawrence. He married Evelyn Castle July 29, 1966 in Odessa. They moved to Andrews in 1974.

A.D. retired from Apache after 28 years of service, he then opened and ran Old Goat Bar-B-Q in Andrews which he ran for seven years.

A.D. was a faithful Christian man who loved the lord and was a member of Parks memorial Church of God in Christ in Odessa. He loved old cars and westerns. He loved his wife and always called her" honey". He had three children, but he was a father figure to many. One of his favorite things was to watch the movies "Uptown Saturday Night and "Let's Do It Again" with his boys. And he was very proud of his family.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Andrews, sons, Dwayne Lawrence of Tulsa, OK; Marcus Lawrence of Allen, Texas; Terrance Lawrence of McKinney, TX; one brother, Roy Shelton Lawrence of Seminole, TX; sisters Dolly, of Dallas; Ludie and Laura both of Odessa; Jean of Dallas; Mae Helen of Kyle, TX, Lorene of Ft. Worth; nine grandchildren, Allan, Cynthia, Gabriel; Domonique, Isiah, Geneva, Morgan and Victoria-Camille; and four great-grandchildren; Marcus, Malaiya, Osiris and Luna. wwwmcnettfuneralhome.com
