Myra Rose Maxey, 68, of Midland passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in Midland.
Family and friends will gather at the graveside to celebrate her life at 2 PM, Friday, March 10, 2017 at Andrews North Cemetery with Leslie Boone officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10th from 9 AM – 1 PM at McNett Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. Myra was born to Charles Edward Smith and Lois June Luttrall on April 10, 1948 in Houston, Texas. She was raised in Andrews and attended Andrews High School. She met her husband, James Maxey, through a mutual friend in 1990, and the two were married in Midland on August 22, 1991. Myra held many different jobs in her life including being a truck driver for Schlumberger and a dispatcher for Oil Patch Answering Service, but she found her true calling when she started working for Mama Bear’s Day Care in 1993. She loved children and she was employed there until 2002. She will always be remembered for being very creative and artistic. She painted and sketched in books with pencil and chalk as well as creating many home décor items. She also had a love of music. She would listen to music every day in her car, while she worked, and sang for her family. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bill Hardison.
She is survived by her husband, James, 2 sons, Thomas Cagle and James Parker both of Andrews, 1 Daughter, Lisa Alaniz of Mesquite; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Cagle, Lacey Wilson, David Cagle, Jordan Hardison, Summer Alaniz, and Matthew Cagle, 11 Great-grandchildren, and her mother June Turnbow of Andrews.
