Services for Doug Gaines 68 of Canadian, Oklahoma, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in Means Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ted Short, burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Doug passed away in Red Oak, Texas Saturday, October 18, 2008.
He was born on August 26, 1940 in Gorman, Texas. Doug married Sharon Rogers on February 9, 1959. Doug worked for the City of Andrews for 27 years, as a policeman and was Chief of Police when he retired in 1989.
Survivors include, wife; Sharon Gaines, Canadian, Oklahoma, sons; Doug Gaines and Ricky Gaines both of Andrews, Bobby Gaines of Gladewater, TX, sisters; Betty Gaines, Andrews, Linda Drake, Glen Rose, TX, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
