Carl Everett Walker, 80, a long time resident of China Spring, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Aaron Young officiating. There will be a viewing from 1 to 2 prior to the service. Internment will take place immediately after the service at China Spring Cemetery.

Carl was born in Moshiem, Texas, to the late Carl Walker and Dorothy Martin. Carl joined the U.S. Army and served his country proudly. He served in Vietnam and Korea, reached the rank of 1st Sargent and eventually retired from the military in 1968. Carl went on to work at and retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Portland, Ore. He moved to China Spring in 1984 and met and married Dolores "Dolly" Irish on Jan. 22, 1994 in Waco, Texas.

Carl was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Walker; his second wife, Susan Walker; sister, Floyce "Pete" Flowers; a brother, T.J. Walker; and his uncle, Everett Walker.

He is survived by his wife, Dolly Walker; son, Jeff Walker and wife, Rae; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie "Dickie" Walker; beloved step-sons, Jamie and Randy Wood; beloved step-daughters, Lisa Harrison and husband, Troy, Linda Brown and husband, Rory, of Washington, Mala Bufkin, Sheryl Harding, of Colorado; many other family members; and a host of friends.
