Matias Lujan Montoya, 55, of Andrews passed away January 2, 2015 in Ector County, Texas.

A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Matias was born August 2, 1959 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Alvaro and Escolastica Montoya. He has been a longtime resident of Andrews.

He loved horses and horse racing. He enjoyed taking trips to his family ranch in Mexico. Matias could light up a room with his smile and sense of humor, he loved to joke and make people laugh. He had a big hart and loved to help people. He loved to cook and have BBQ’s with his family and he was a wonderful grandpa to his grandson Evan Rodrigues.

He is survived by his parents; daughter, Cristina Rodrigues of Andrews; his son, Alex Montoya of Andrews; brothers Ruben Montoya of Three Rivers, Texas; Jose Montoya of Mexico; sisters, Elizama Galindo of Presidio, Texas; Luzelena Gonzales of Andrews; Elivinie Montoya of Andrews and one grandson, Evan Rodrigues of Andrews. www.mcnettfuneralhome.com
