David Lee Connally, 61, of Mart, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 21, at Littlepage Funeral Home in Mart and the service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 22, at the First United Methodist Church in Mart with Pastor Tom Warnock officiating. Eulogy will be given by Donnie Hall
David was born October 4, 1952, in Waco, to Albert and Minnie Finley Connally. He graduated from Mart I.S.D. in 1971 and was a true Mart Panther. David was also a member of the Mart Panther State Championship Football Team in 1969. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve for six years following high school. He was employed at the Texas Power and Light Tradinghouse Power Plant for 20 years. He worked in the sales industry for the last 20 years, most recently with Hogg Electric in Hewitt. He lived and resided in the Mart area his entire life. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and golf.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elwin and James Connally; and daughter, D'Ann Connally.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the love of his life and best friend, Debbie Connally; son, Chad Connally and his wife, Stacy; son, Derek Connally and his wife, Megan; his four beautiful grandchildren, Chance, Logan, D'Lane and Devyn; sister, Wanda Black and husband, Neil, of Gholson; numerous nieces, nephews, close friends; and his two special friends, Poco and Q.
Pallbearers are Scott Holder, Mark Summers, Kyle Hogg, Aaron Dieterich, Doug Matthys, Zach Matthys.
Honorary pallbearers are Blake Hyden and Steve Aldredge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or the Mart I.S. D. Enrichment Fund.
