LEO GLENWOOD ABBE
Leo Glenwood Abbe, 63, of 6400 Gardendale, a retired auto mechanic, died Thursday in a Temple hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Wilkerson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Travis Gibson and the Rev. R. L. Whitworth officiating. Burial will be in the Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Abbe was born April 13, 1919 in Big Spring and attended Big Spring schools. He was married to Dorothy S. Wison in 1939 and moved to Waco in 1952.
He was a World War II Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post NO. 440 and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, the Rev. David Abbe of Malakoff, Dewey C. Abbe, Dann Abbe, and Donald R. Abbe of Waco, Deryl W. Abbe of Crawford and Dennis R. Abbe of Bakersfield, California; four sisters, Mrs. Lilly Dell Myers of Austin, Mrs. E. D. (Velma) Barden of Rockport, Mrs. Wayne (Francis) Powell of Palcios and Mrs. Raymond (Billie) Parker of San Angelo; three brothers, Walter E. Abbe of Abilene, James Abbe of Brownwood, and Troy Abbe of Longview; 20 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
